WHAT WE DO

Claimants & IP Owners

WealthDocket evaluates litigation claims and IP rights on behalf of claimants and IP owners to quickly determine eligibility for litigation funding and/or other monetization through licensing campaigns or asset sales.

Conducting Detailed
Diligence

WealthDocket will proactively diligence matters brought to us for litigation funding or monetization and assist claimants and IP owners in constructing an actionable proposal that funders can evaluate quickly. With our experience, we can anticipate and address head-on most diligence questions and streamline the process in order to minimize delay.

Developing and Executing Funding Bidding Process

Drawing on our deal experience, WealthDocket coordinates a competitive, time-bound process in raising litigation funding capital for its clients. Many litigation funding advisors simply pick up the phone and call the funders best known to them, creating a disorganized and unmanageable tangle of outreach that facilitates funder gamesmanship and fails to optimize the bidding process.

WealthDocket aims to generate multiple, timely proposals to facilitate the best funding terms for claimants.

Selection and Retention of Litigation Counsel

Counsel engagement terms frequently drive outcomes in litigation finance. Claimants and IP owners must carefully select and engage skilled litigation counsel. We refer candidate law firms from our network based on our institutional knowledge of their experience. Claimants rely on our deep understanding of legal pricing and counsel capabilities to obtain an optimal counsel engagement.

Funder Selection and Negotiation of Funding Facility Terms

Funders place great emphasis on a claimant's chosen litigation counsel and budget when proposing funding terms. After counsel is retained, WealthDocket prepares materials and curates a list of funders for outreach from among dozens of funder relationships based on the type of matter, our real-time knowledge of funder appetite, and our understanding of the funders' balance sheet or access to capital.  We strive to generate competing term sheets and negotiate the best available terms for our clients.

Leveraging our Relationship Network

WealthDocket leverages its vast network of law firm and IP relationships to introduce claimants and IP owners to counsel and funders who have specific experience with the type of claims and IP to be monetized.

By engaging WealthDocket to advise on litigation funding and/or IP monetization, claimants and IP owners:

  • are introduced to top litigation counsel for the client’s claim type; and

  • obtain a well structured arrangement with funders and counsel that properly aligns interests among the stakeholders.
